About The Company

Sherborne Qatar, comprising a Senior School and a Preparatory School, opened in 2009 and is the first overseas school opened by Sherborne School, the distinguished British independent school founded under Royal charter in 1550. Sherborne Qatar is a British school in an international setting for international and Qatari pupils and provides a broad and excellent British education.

The school is accredited to British Schools Overseas (BSO), having met the Ofsted criteria, to British Schools in the Middle East (BSME) and to the Independent Association of Prep Schools (IAPS). In 2018 we achieved Qatar National Schools Accreditation (QNSA).

The Prep School covers Pre School to Year 6 and follows the National Curriculum of England. The Senior School covers Years 7 to 13. The curriculum prepares pupils for IGCSE examinations and Sixth Formers (Years 12 and 13) study for three or four A Levels or AS Levels. We have also introduced the BTEC Level 3 Extended Certificate in Business Studies. Our aim is that pupils will be ready for entry into universities across the world. We want our pupils to become positive role models, embrace positions of responsibility and develop a range of interests. As such, the taught curriculum is supported by a host of enrichment activities, inter school and inter house sports fixtures, music and drama.

Most of our teachers have UK teaching qualifications and experience and many have experience of teaching in an international setting.
