About The Company

Ampelmann is the global leader in the development, construction and lease of offshore motion compensated gangways. The company was founded in 2008, as a spin-off of the Technical University in Delft, The Netherlands.

The core technology is the Ampelmann system, a motion compensated platform that enables safe, easy and fast access from a moving vessel to an offshore installation, even in rough sea conditions.

Having doubled the fleet every year since 2008, Ampelmann currently operates over 60 systems worldwide, including seven units currently in Qatar. Ampelmann transfers crews from a variety of vessels to offshore oil & gas platforms, wind turbines, FPSO’s and all other fixed or floating structures at sea.

Ampelmann’s base model is the A-type unit. The platform has 2m stroke cylinders and gangways of 20-25m. The newer E-type unit (2012) has 3m stroke cylinders and can carry up to 100 tonnes of payload. It can be fitted with standard A-type gangways or client specific gangway or crane types reaching up to 65m.

Ampelmann continues to build its fleet of standard systems alongside constant innovation such as: ship-to-ship functionality; cargo transfer; hose support; re-fueling operations; continuous transfer and many more. All adding up to meet our vision:
